Enerdes climate control

1 Consult

Enerdes was consulted to understand the specific needs for protecting and controlling the indoor climate of the greenhouse housing the parabolic mirrors. This consultation included assessing environmental factors like dust and sand storms to ensure the mirrors’ optimal performance.

2 Design

Enerdes designed a custom climate control system to maintain a clean and transparent environment within the greenhouse. This system protects the mirrors and turning mechanisms from external elements. The greenhouse, constructed by Kubo, ensures the longevity of the mirrors and supports sustainable energy production.

3 Result

The implementation of Enerdes’ climate system significantly improved the operational efficiency of GlassPoint’s solar power plant. The controlled environment ensures the effectiveness of the mirrors, contributing to the plant’s capacity to provide 850 megawatts of thermal power and 26.5 megawatts of solar electricity. This helps reduce CO2 emissions by 376,000 tons per year, equivalent to the annual emissions of 80,000 cars.
